ABOUT ME
I have over 30 years’ experience in the audio industry. Having worked as an engineer and producer in recording studios, live events, post production facilities and also as a recording artist, both in the UK and internationally. I have a wealth of experience across many areas of the audio industry. I started my career as a stagehand at the tender age of 15 going on a European tour setting me on my career path. Returning to the UK I worked in various studio’s in Soho, London, and toured as a monitor engineer for various artists before landing my first full time assistant engineers position at Konk studios in London. I then moved on to Berwick Street studios as an in house engineer and also started producing my own music in the mid to late 90’s. I progressed to working freelance in other studios with various artists before moving over to an in house engineers position at the legendary Livingston studios. The year 2000 saw me relocate to Dubai where I worked for BK productions for a year before returning to the UK having been signed to Papa Records, as one half of the band ‘Reel People’. After recording and producing my first album in 2001 ‘Second Guess’ by Reel People on Papa records, in partnership, I started People Studios based in Hoxton which was a four-studio facility which ran for 11 years! After People Studios closed around 2011, I went back to touring as a playback engineer, FOH engineer and Tour Manager for various artists across the world for two years. I then re opened People Studios and also began teaching at this time and I have continued to do so, as well as working out of my People Studios facility in London. I am a Lead Lecturer at BIMM University London and the Notting Hill Academy of Music and I continue to work in the audio industry. I also own and run in partnership, the record label Chillifunk Records. I DJ regularly in London and have a monthly radio show ‘The Saturday Shuffle-Chillifunk Sessions’ on release Radio.
